andreabalintAndrea Balint is a BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy) accredited CBT therapist; ISST (International Society of Schema Therapy) accredited advanced level Schema therapist and trainer supervisor; HCPC registered clinical psychologist, certified biofeedback specialist and child drama therapist. She has about 20 year experience in mental health and Clinical Psychology, from which 14 years are post graduate.
Andrea is a member of the British Psychological Society and of the American Psychological Association.
Andrea is well experienced both in time limited, solution focused and in long term, life transforming, deeper therapies and is able to select from the range of modalities according to the client’s needs. She has psychotherapeutic experience with all age groups, with a variety of mental and physical health problems and with complex issues.
Andrea worked as High Intensity CBT therapist in the NHS (for the Luton and Havering IAPT) and as associate at private services like: The Psychology Service, the CBT Services, Efficacy, Oxford CBT and Moving Minds. She completed the CBT therapist role in the two year Open Minds project in Luton.
Andrea tutored at the Psychology Department of the University of Bedfordshire and gained the Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Andrea has been practicing meditation for over 20 years and learnt different types of meditation techniques. During her university studies she studied different religions and attended several units in Buddhism. She also taught meditation in small groups in her private practice, in different schools and for staff members at the Hungarian Airlines. Andrea completed her 8 week MBCT course in 2014 and the MBCT teacher training with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in 2016. She is member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Mindfulness Association.
Andrea is currently working toward her accreditation at the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) as advanced level Group Schema Therapist.
She is currently working at the Semmelweis University, and in private practice in Budapest and Cegled, and is available for online / telephone therapies and supervision as well.
Andrea provides Group Schema Therapy and the 8 week Mindfulnes program at the Department of Clinical Psychology, Semmelweis University and in her private practice as well.
